Job Description:

VDA is seeking a Business Development Manager. This role will be primarily responsible for driving company expansion in a highly competitive environment through a combination of the acquisition of new customers and strategic growth of high opportunity accounts within the VDA portfolio. Success in this role requires strong interpersonal skills and comfort in approaching, engaging with, presenting, and negotiating to C-level executives.

The successful individual will meet our customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives. This person will work directly with the Director, Sales in developing key growth sales strategies, tactics, and action plans. Successful execution of these strategies is required to achieve financial targets. We are looking for someone that has demonstrated success in hunting new business and the capacity to facilitate and motivate a sales team, for continued success.

Strategic Focus:

Targeted strategic plan development, in concert with the Director of Sales and other Director level VDA executives, regarding industries, vertical markets, scale, approach to prospects, political landscape, event strategies and emerging enterprises.

Duties will include:

Hitting annual targets, building relationships, and understanding client & industry trends. Prospecting, attending networking events and traveling to networking conferences as needed, communicating with the Director, Sales, presenting to prospects, maintaining a high level of communication with the team in the office to facilitate deliverables, timely development of creative concepts, and financial statements of work, according to customer needs and objectives. Entering activities and data into Salesforce CRM database.

We expect the person in this position to be highly organized with exceptional oral and written communication skills, have the ability to deal effectively with people and communicate clearly. Superb research skills, and an ability to stay current with technology and industry trends is essential. Must have Event Industry knowledge, experience and a proven track record in event/ experiential marketing/ sales.
